Nate Bessa is a Senior Software Developer at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, as well as Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Previously, he worked as a Senior Technical Consultant at Galen Healthcare Solutions.
Nate is also the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Project Plus One, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization supporting tuberculosis treatment and prevention efforts in Timor-Leste.
Nate graduated from Northeastern University in 2014 with a dual major in Computer Science and Business. While at Northeastern, Nate worked at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard as a software developer in the Metabolite Profiling Platform, as well as at Brigham & Women’s Hospital where he built an application that led to a $2 million increase on hospital revenue. Nate was also a part of the Northeastern University Social Enterprise Institute, IDEA: Northeastern’s Venture Accelerator and Phi Delta Theta Massachusetts Epsilon.
Nate is interested in healthcare technology, data visualization and analytics, and the work of social enterprises. He enjoys playing soccer and skiing. Nate currently resides in Boston, MA.
